Outdoor Meetings

Ground conditions are dependent on recent weather and it is therefore recommended that you wear suitable clothing and footwear.

Where appropriate, bring binoculars and field guides.

It is recommended that you bring lunch for all-day meetings.  Friends of members are always welcome.

For sustainability and as many of the locations of the outdoor trips are not accessible by public transport, car sharing is recommended and is co-ordinated by the Secretary.  There may be parking or admission charges at some sites.

For car share to glow-worm walk meet in car park south of Open Air Pool, High Street, Hoddesdon EN11 8BE  Bring torch.  NGR TL 372 079

At the mammal Hide at Tewin Orchard, there are 14 chairs and full height windows.  Pay in the box in the hide - £3 (£2 for Badger Group or HMWT member).  Keep quiet, don't disturb local human or animal residents, and you should see a range of species.  the hide remains open all night, but you can leave when there is a break in wildlife activity.

Please follow the links from the Programme to find reports of outdoor meetings which will be added throughout the year.
